Wedding photography Marriott Hotel, Edinburgh

Both Mairi and Lee live in Perth, and that’s not the Perth just up the road that’s the Perth Australia. The couple chose to return to their birth place Scotland so that they could celebrate with their family and friends. I cannot begin to image how difficult it would be to try and plan for a wedding from the other side of the world; however the couple managed it and the day seemed to go without a single hitch.

The service was held in the lovely St Ninian’s Parish Church in Corstorphine, Edinburgh which is just around the corner from Mairi’s parents house. The guests all arrived and were able to spend some time outside in the lavender gardens enjoying the glorious sunshine before retreating to the cool and tranquil interior of the church.

Lee claimed he was not feeling any nerves at this point however the frequent sipping from his Balvenie filled hip flask and need for a bottle of water perhaps indicated some level of nerves.

Mairi arrived promptly and along with here 3 brides maids (her 3 sisters) and 1 flower girl made a  lovely entrance into the church taking everyone’s breath away. It was a relatively short service after which everyone existed the church for a few impromptu pictures in the church grounds before the guest all got on a bus to take them to the reception venue, The Marriott Hotel on Glasgow road. Mean while the bride and groom remained behind for a few formal pictures in and around the church.

Once back at the hotel everyone was able to continue to enjoy the lovely weather with drinks and canopies being served in the outside wedding garden. Mairi and Lee had give me a list of the group shots they would like taken on the day so we set about capturing these images and with 30 minutes they were all done. This left me with another 30 minutes for some more formal images of the newly married couple before everyone went inside for the speeches and wedding breakfast.

The speeches were done first allowing everyone to then enjoy their meal. After the meal the room was quickly turned around and the band set-up (It’s No Reel). With the first dances out of the way the Céilidh band got the evening entertainment kicked of with some fast paced reels and jigs on the dance floor.

All in all a brilliant day and I an am sure the couple will be delighted with their pictures which will always remind them of this very special day.
