After a day of exploring the island I had decided to capture some images from Duntulm beach which can be found on the Western coats of Skye just past the most northerly point. This location was pointed out to me by a other photographer who I had met the previous day so a big thank you to Dimitri Vasiliou.
When I reached this location there was still a few hours until the sun was due to set, so I passed the time by preparing some camping dinner (curry pot noodle and a Mars bar) and explored the near by castle. As the light levels began to fall I started to explore the beach at the foot of the cliffs looking for interesting rock formations and composition lead in lines. Thank fully there was plenty to choose from, after that it was just a case of waiting to see what colours the setting sun brought to my chosen location.
The sunset was partially masked by clouds over the Isle of Harris however there was still some colour in the sky that continued for almost 45 minutes after the sun had fully set. After this it was back to the car for a drive to my final sunrise of my short visit to Skye. For this I had chosen the iconic rock formation known as the Old Man of Storr. SO that meant a quick drive to the other side of the island, pitch my tent beside another car park and get some sleep as it would be another early rise in the morning.
