I had a weekend of from weddings and babies. It was time for me to spend some quality time with my eldest son Aaron (aged 9) and his cousin Zack (aged 6). For the last 3 years we have went away during the Easter break to do a spot of camping on the shores of Loch Lomond. With just a two man tent, a single ring gas burner and a good thick sleeping bag we set off to get back in touch with nature. No electronic stimulation (no DS, no Wii and no TV) just the great outdoors for entertainment. Oh and me I just couldn’t bare to be parted from at least one of my cameras.
We had a great time with some hill walking and exploration, building dams in streams, lighting camp fires, climbing trees and playing hide and seek in the pitch dark. We also found a frog, some newts and even seen a common lizard. The beetle or smarty game is a story for another time. The weekend was over all too quickly however everyone enjoyed themselves now looking forward to next Easter.
