The day started with me arriving at the Gemma’s (the bride) house. The first thing that struck me was how calm everyone was, Gemma, her 4 bridesmaids and Aimee the flower girl we all just relaxing and taking it in turn to have their hair and makeup done. The nervous tension did start to build when the wedding cars turned up and everyone started to get into their dresses. I must mention the hair and make-up artist (Karen) from Pamper Me Makeup and Beauty, never have I seen a bride so well looked after, they did everything for Gemma, helped her into her dress, fixed her vale, put her shoes and garter on and even her perfume, Gemmas bridesmaids had a really easy time of things.
In the mean time Nike and his best man Andy had arrive at Chatelherault Country Park, which was to be the venue for their service before moving on the have their reception at Hamilton race course. With the groom, best man and all the guests in place Gemma turned up a customary few minutes late. Gemma entered the Chatelherault Banqueting Hall to the background sounds of O Sole Mio being played by her string quartet.
After the ceremony all of the guest were invited outside to the lovely gardens with some champagne and orderves. It was at this point that a special guest of the bride and groom turned up, Ollie their springer spaniel. Ollie was suitable attired for the occasion with his little cute bow tie, so we took some pictures of all 3 of them together before Ollie had to leave the party. We captured the rest of the requested group pictures in the grounds of Chatelherault, taking advantage of the lovely weather. Once all of the group pictures had been taken and the guests had left on the coaches, I spent some time with just Gemma and Nick taking some pictures if just the two of them in the gardens and also the house itself.
Once everyone was seated in the marquette at Hamilton race course the bride and groom entered the room to ruptured applause. After Gemma and Nick got some pictures taken along with their cake the speeches were announced. Gemmas father Gerry, Nick and Andy all made a speech which kept all of the guests entertained and I do know they were running a sweepstake on how long the speaches would be however I don’t know who was the closest in the end.
After the meal we had a short break while the DJ got set-up, this allowed us some time for a few pictures by the weighing rooms of the race course. After that it was time for the couples first dance as Mr & Mrs Pitsos and then for the start of the evening entertainment.
Here are just a few sneak peeks from the images captured during the day: –
