Te location for last night Photo Booth was the Mooring Hotel in Motherwell. This hotel is not the largest venue so we had to improvise and set up at the end of a 5 ft corridor, this however did not deter the guests who were all eager to get in the booth for a bit of fun. I had the please of photographing Emma and Gary’s wedding recently at the Best Western Garfield hotel in Stepps. I first met with the couple way back in 2012 and now 2 years later their wedding day finally arrived. Emma and Gary had planned to have their service and reception in the same location so stress of getting guest from A to B on the day. Emma had put a great deal on planning into her day right down to the finer details such as the blinged up converse for her to wear in the evening and the personalised gift bags for her bridesmaids. I always make sure I get pictures of these little details on the day to serve as poignant reminders in years to come.

Kilsyth Academy School Prom Event Photography 2013 by Alec Kirkham
I was asked to attend the Kilsyth Academy school prom this years which was held at Hampden Stadium. As the evenings official photographer I was there to make sure that everyone attending the event had the opportunity to have their picture taken. Everyone arrived in high spirits and dressed to the nines and it was not long before they were queuing for pictures. The shots varied throughout the night from individual, couple small groups and large groups shots. All of the images taken during the evening were instantly available to view on a large  monitor allowing the pupils to select any images that they liked. Any selected prints were then printed as a 6×9 photograph on the evening using state of the art dye-sublimation printers, mounted into a 11×6 card mount before being placed in a protective bag for transportation home. The pupils were all delighted to be taking home a prints from the evening which I am sure will be treasured for many years to come and be a constant reminder of this milestone event.
